Science Museum of Virginia
The Science Museum of Virginia recently asked me to cover a promotional event for their “How to make a Monster” exhibit. It was a really fun time spent at a place that brought back a lot of fond memories for me having spent many a field trip there as a youth.
The museum has changed a lot since I had last been (maybe 10 years ago?) and has some really great new exhibits. In particular the new “Boost” exhibit was executed incredibly well; I could have spent hours playing with the automated musical instruments alone. In addition to all the regular attractions the museum offers they also brought in the original Bigfoot monster truck and a giant water balloon launching trebuchet. There was also a high school robotics team competition going on which was pretty mind blowing. It was nice to feel like a kid again while doing some work for a great local organization.
If you haven’t been by the museum in a while it’s really worth going by to check out all the new stuff.
